In March, NCSEP was able to partake in many ways of giving back to the community. To kick the month off, NCSEP donated more school supplies to schools around North Carolina. Ms. Vinsion, a teacher at Buggs Magnet elementary school, accepted some of these supplies to use in her classrooms. They included a variety of products ranging from colored pencils to hand sanitizer to mechanical pencils. A Netflix party was hosted later, featuring the movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, to raise proceeds to donate towards underfunded schools in NC. After this, NCSEP continued its journey of collecting supplies by hosting a school supplies drive from April 1st to April 31st. The locations at which individuals could drop off their supplies included the Triangle Aquatic Center and Davis Grove Pediatrics located in Cary, NC, as well as Sospeso Coffee Roasters located in Waxhaw, NC. Many items were collected from the drive, and they will soon be given out to schools in need of these supplies. Throughout the year, NCSEP will continue to come with opportunities to support underfunded schools and raise awareness about them. Stay tuned for the future ventures offered by NCSEP!
